Develop marked-up templates using Word Ribbon controls

Bake into the template the layout, color, localisation, and behavior of the questionnaire

Launch an in-situ HTML questionnaire using one or more locales

Save and resume answers

Generate instance PDF documents

Web Service

Scripts

The DocXpress compiler, questionnaire generator, and document assembler is coded purely in JavaScript. As such, it has been engineered as a web service that can be readily integrated into existing web applications such as document management systems, insurance underwriting systems, and many others. It can also be readily integrated into platforms such as Salesforce.

Integration

1. Upload the template document that was created using the DocXpress Word Add-In.
2. Store the template document in the web repository (with version control).
3. Use Word-on-the-server to convert the document to Web Page format.
4. Web Page format produces a single HTM file plus a folder containing XML files.
5. The key to the process is the injection of <script> elements that href the DocXpress library.
6. Store the activated template document in the web repository.
7. A user requests the activated template document.
8. The DocXpress library renders the activated template document as an on-line questionnaire.
9. On completion of the questionnaire the user clicks the Assemble button.
10. The payload is a .zip that contains the assembled HTM documents plus the answers as XML.
11. Use Word-on-the-server to convert the assembled documents to PDF.
12. Store the assembled documents in the web repository.
13. The user is re-directed to a landing page that contains the assembled documents.
14. The user has access to the assembled documents.

Mickey Starcevic

Mickey was a key member of the programming team at Business Integrity Ltd, and later at Thomson Reuters Corporation, with primary responsibility for the development and maintenance of Contract Express Author.

Phil Vasey

Phil founded the programming team at Business Integrity Ltd, and was later Head of Research at Thomson Reuters Corporation, with primary responsibility for the research, development and maintenance of Contract Express.
